CCA NEXGEN CHALLENGE
"CCA NEXGEN CHALLENGE 2015"
Won Silver Award in CCA's NexGen Challenge 2015
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) investigates an average of about 800 cases of animal cruelty annually and runs a 24-hour rescue service. Over the past year, the number of reports of alleged abuse involving community cats, (some involving graphic dismemberment), have increased. These cases, however, remain unsolved due to the lack of evidence (including lack of eye-witnesses) and/or willingness of individuals to come forward to testify against the perpetrators.
Insight:
Anybody can abuse animals, regardless of their age, and the majority of violent individuals start abusing animals from a young age. There is also overwhelming research that shows people who start abusing animals end up hurting people too.
Idea:
Kind Cartoons.
We tackle the problem at the source, and create a completely new form of entertainment - Kind Cartoons. We will invite popular cartoon networks to help spread out powerful message that cruelty against animals is not a form of funny entertainment.
Impact:
On World Animal Day, SPCA will partner up with a collection of cartoon channels to launch new and episodes with a special twist. As people watch these Kind Cartoons, they will see a transformational difference due to the cartoons being free of violence and abuse.
